good bra support
I didn’t mean this kind of support

apparently I put a reminder in Monkey’s phone (that I obviously don’t remember about). I didn’t even notice that today was the 14th, but that silly boy remembered.

I was struck by lust of the industry again, and I put the question forth to him. Now, I asked my buddies the same thing and they mostly logically dissuaded me from going back. I half expected Monkey to say the same thing too, but his answer…

Why not? I’ll support you.

…told me that I made the right choice 3 months ago.

Thanks, baby.

twiddling my thumbs

I’m sitting in the office waiting for Monkey to knock off. The poor boy’s mum had already left him out of the dinner tonight, since we originally had plans with xt, who made plans with her honey without cancelling on me (for a while I thought I was going to be part of the action, gasp, no!) and I had to sms her to confirm.

I blundered quite badly at the meeting just now, stuttering every other word, trying to force my brain to obey. I could have gone home to sleep, but I owed a colleague a quotation (which I could have done at Mac, next to the meeting place and then go home) and I was tempted by the thought that I needn’t lug my laptop around.

So my brother’s going to come home to a less-than-neat place, and I forgot to tell him to help me buy Krispy Kreme because I wanted to surprise a little chilli padi that has been stressed out at work, but wow, guess this birdbrain didn’t remember, argh. My dad’s going China again, but I doubt if he’ll go to HK just to buy this.

I am so tired, I can’t really do any work or any serious thinking. I’m just aimlessly surfing around hoping to stay awake then have dinner and then go home - not that I mind just collapsing in bed and waking up hungry tomorrow. And you know what the irony would be?

Yep, if I kenna insomnia later again. What fun!

Update - after giving up going home at 5pm to come back to do that one quotation and have dinner with Monkey, Monkey just called me to cancel dinner because he has to work late.

no, this is the irony.

Monkey is my pick-me-up

Monkey has been very sweet these couple of days when I’ve been sick. He came over from work on Wednesday to get me some groceries and wash my dishes, and last night just to bring me out to buy bread and help me rub some medicated oil on my tummy.

He’s also going to be running some errands for me tonight, buying some stuff since I can’t go out and also getting me some stuff.

I have no idea why my tummy’s giving me trouble. Hopefully it’s only the side effects of the stupid medication. I hope it stops. If not I have to take more medication. At least my cough and runny nose/phelgm has stopped.

Day time television is quite ok before 9am. Ironic huh? I just watched Cheers and Friends. Then it’s Oprah and that.bores.me.no.end. Glad I still have my comics!

Well, it’s time to eat Nutella sandwiches!

Monkey was pointing out to me his friend who was working in the GoldHeart store. There were a few staff inside assisting potential customers on that weekend evening.

“There, he’s inside there.”
“Which one?”
“The one at the side.”
“The one with the back facing us?”
“The one wearing purple.”

Purple is the colour of their uniforms.

“See? That one? That one wearing blue with black slacks with his hand raised up.”

bits/pieces #03

I always had this weird liking for reading while eating. In fact, I’ve been lectured many times because it’s deemed very rude. So it’s quite lucky that Monkey also likes to do that! We’re quite a sight, actually. I’ll go all the way down to Suntec from Jurong to meet him for dinner and we’ll be eating at Macs, two of us reading our own materials.

luann - “but magazines are a book!”

I have had an exciting week. Dinner with S (Methodist) on Monday with Starbucks with him and Supanova (raised a Catholic and now a Protestant after that, discussing stuff like the right pay for a pastor to how evolution and religion should or should not co-exist before Supanova sent us all back. Needless to say, the conversation was quite interesting! Tuesday saw me having drinks with my ex-client. The exchange ranged from the pay increment in Ministers’ pay, his son (he has 2 teenagers) who is turning 18, and some advise from the 22 year sales veteran.

People say that sales people need to be good talkers. I tell you, you don’t use your mouth. If you need to use your mouth, you’re doomed. A sales person needs 3 things: Ears, Eyes and Hands. Ears, because you need to listen to what they are saying; Eyes, because you need to see what they need; Hands, because you need to really carry out the tasks you have to do.

The excitment carried on on Wednesday - having dinner with xt and mandrake is never a simple affair. Not when we laugh so hard we can’t digest our food, food becomes sexual impressions, and coke goes out of my nose. Not pleasant at all. Hurhurhur. Thursday was meant for Badminton with Supanova, but we realised that we didn’t have the racquets way too late and went for a sinful dinner at Holland Village’s Katong Laksa instead. As usual we managed to over-order (or me, actually) and Friday was K-dinner night with the MS gang and Sat afternoon we went back to the same place for K-lunch with his friends.

K Box sucks. But that’s another rant for another time.

We had a Rendezvous with xt, mandrake, joelle and vainpot at Pasir Panjang Food Centre (no it’s not closed) in the evening. We are definitely going back again to eat at Lucky! Huat ah! And not at that stall you see above. this place absolutely… SUCKS. Ask any of us who went. Go Lucky instead! Huat ah! The seafood was fresh but none of the fresh seafood was served to us. At all. Down to the single clam.

Fantastic week. ;) Makes up for the part-time maid smsing me “if want to do your house ironing must increase price”. But that’s another story for another time.

Ok. Whooping long post. Oh no, I am in danger of being one of those “what-I-did-on-Monday-and-Tuesday-and-Wednesday-etc” bloggers!

wait… I just did that. Oh man, I will never be able to win a Magic Pony Award!

two months down, and everyday better than the last.

yes, it’s true. Every word in the lyrics… Just continue to bear with me.

I’ll say thanks, but you’ll say that our journey is just beginning.

That’s what’s left of the weekend.. headache tracking expenses aside, the weekend had been special, at least to what was planned. Thanks Monkey!

“So how was the weekend?”
“Like a dream.”

trivia on the weekend:

  • I had ice-cream twice on Saturday! Mint chocolate chip with bread on the roadside is doubly fantastic with my best friend next to me, and Teh-Tarik ice-cream kept me up all night (sort of)
  • bYSI had a sale. Bought a great top for SGD 13. Little else entertained me there, and mostly were out of my size.
  • Had my first full-body scrub. I left the place feeling smooth, and the blackheads on my back were mostly gone (so said Monkey). Therapist commented on how long my waist was, and that I had huge bones (while poking my ribs).
  • Singapore’s hotels haven’t caught on how free broadband in rooms make it much more value-added (unlike this Boulevard Hotel in KL, where Jasmine is). Where we were, it was for SGD 20 the whole day or SGD 0.50 for a minute.
  • You can tune the air-conditioning to 5 degree celcius!
  • We thought we saw Miyagi… couldn’t confirm though.
  • There are no good programmes on television on Sunday mornings.
  • Baths in bathtubs can make one woozy… seriously.
  • I read comic books really really fast.
  • Alcohol makes me seriously frisky.
  • I had a panic attack on Saturday night, resulting from a very realistic and bad dream. I woke up with fear rising in my mouth, cursing that I didn’t bring my medication (which I did), and thank God that tiredness took over.
  • My cats didn’t miss me that much! *pout*

it’s not a compliment, it’s a transaction
